Great photos from Democamp East/West

It’s unbelievable how fast time passes – it’s been already five months since we’ve met at the Democamp East/West.

We’d like to remind you that great event and present you some photos made by Robert Janiszewski – photographer and blog’s author. On his blog you can find information for those who are pursuing or intend to pursue their own start-up and many (photo)relations from various barcamp events.

First clips on lookr.tv

During Democamp’s day two every start-up had an opportunity to show itself in front of  the camera. As we informed lookr.tv has recorded presentations and short speeches of start-ups representatives, who talked about their projects, business models, benefits and targets.

First clips are already available. All materials will be published on our website, on lookr.tv and on startups.pl, so it’s an excellent form of promotion.

Enjoy the films:

Democamp East/West – short summary

Democamp East/West is already behind us. The event gathered almost 300 participants, including guests from abroad. Taking into consideration the fact that it was the first effort to organize international barcamp-like event in Poland – that’s an impressive result!

The first day we had the opportunity to see 13 unconference presentations in two parallel sessions. By dint of open agenda everyone had a chance to show their internet-related passions, projects and skills. We hope that the “open agenda” will catch on in the Polish events for good.

Day two was entirely dedicated to start-ups. During the Start-up Competition invited Judges selected the best projects from 11 that were presented. Every start-up team participating in competition had 7 minutes for presentation and 4 minutes of comments, questions and answers time. Judges evaluated every presentation according to business criteria. Jury was represented by Konrad Sierzputowski (Onet.pl), Paweł Chudziński (Team Europe Ventures), Bartek Pucek (Kreativ), Jacek Wysocki (Nugg.ad), Borys Drajczyk (Vivex Investment), Dirk Kayser (BMP), Zbigniew Krzewiński (Speed-Up Group), Marta Dzikiewicz (ARBOinteractive).

Here are the results of Jury’s voting:

1. erasmuse.pl
2. filmaster.com
3. gieldagwiazd.pl

4. listonic.pl
5. ex aequo: mob.pl, iprezenty.pl
6. mololo.pl
7. wrapme.pl
8. liga-kibicow.pl
9. naspolke.pl
10. poznajpasazera.pl

In addition to Judges’ voting we also conducted another voting among all Observers via SMS.

Results of Observers voting:

1. erasmuse.pl 39 votes
2. mob.pl 29 votes
3. wrapme.pl 23 votes

(all the results of Observers voting you can find here).

Winners received many valuable awards including managed server founded by Hostersi, monthly advertising campaigns in Student TV, 500 000, 250 000 and 100 000 views in Bizon Media and various material prizes.

Congratulations to the winners!

Democamp, of course, couldn’t take place without the good will and commitment of many people. That’s why we’d like to thank our sponsors – BMP, Przelewy24, Hostersi, Microsoft BizSpark and Bizon Media. We also thank Beer Fingers and Energia Lecha – companies that have supported us – and all media patrons.

But most of all we’d like to thank all the participants – without them Democamp East/West wouldn’t make sense. We’d be greatful for sharing us all observations and remarks to contribute ideas to improve Democamp, which is likely to become important event in the IT calendar.

Thanks a lot!

Here, here, here and here you can already view photos from the Democamp photos. Enjoy!

Update: take a look at step-by-step summary on ARBOblog!
